Square is 6 inches
Materials: White and Red Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Savers)
Hook 5mm or size needed to obtain a 6 inch square.

To make the Heart

Ch 6 and join with sl st

Rnd 1: Working in ring: sc, hdc, dc, 2tr, 2dc, 3hdc, sc, dc, sc, 3hdc, 2dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, sc.
Join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: ch1, sc in same st, 2hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 tr in next 2 st, dc in next 2 sts, 2hdc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, dc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, dc in next 2 sts, 2tr in next 2st, 2 dc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc. sl st to join

I have written the above out as plainly as I can right now. Be careful that you
make sure you read st or sts!!

Now the Granny.

Rnd 1: With white and with wrong side of the heart facing you, join with sl st in a loop
on round one, just left of the hearts dip \/

sc in same st, ch3 and sc in a ring evenly around to make 8 loops. sl st to join

Every other ch loop will form a corner so try to get them
evenly spaced so that the heart will be squarely placed when finished.

From now on Ch3 in place of first dc at beginning of all rounds

Rnd 2: sl st to first loop. *3dc ch1 3dc in loop, 3dc in next loop*
Repeat from * to * around
sl st to join

Rnd 3: sl st to ch1 sp. *3dc ch1 3dc in ch 1 sp, (sk next 3 st, 3dc in following space) twice*
Repeat from * to * around
sl st to join

Rnd 4: sl st to ch1 sp. *3dc ch1 3dc in ch 1 sp, (sk next 3 st, 3dc in following space) 3 times*
Repeat from * to * around
sl st to join

Rnd 5: sl st to ch1 sp. *3dc ch1 3dc in ch 1 sp, (sk next 3 st, 3dc in following space) 4 times*
Repeat from * to * around
sl st to join

Finish off!
