Always ch1, ch3 instead of sc or dc at the beginning of each round.

With green yarn, ch2, 5sc in second ch from hook. sl st to join.

Rnd 1: Using BACK LOOPS ONLY, Work 2sc in each st around. sl st to join. 12sts

Finish off green

Rnd 2: Join cream yarn with sl st to any stitch. 2dc in each st around. sl st to join. 24sts

Rnd 3: 3dc in first st, ch1, sk2 st, (3dc ch1 3dc) Corner Made, *ch1, sk2 st, 3dc, ch1, sk 2 st, (3dc ch1 3dc )*. Repeat from * to * 2 more times, sl st to join

Rnd 4: sl st to first ch1 sp.
3dc in same sp, *ch1, 3dc ch1 3dc in corner sp, (ch1, 3dc) in next 2 spaces. Repeat from * to * 3 more times. ch1, sl st to join

Rnd 5: sl st to first sp.
3dc in same sp, *ch1, 3dc ch1 3dc in corner sp, (ch1, 3dc) in next 3 spaces. Repeat from * to * 3 more times. ch1, sl st to join

Finish off cream

Rnd 6: Join green in any st and sc in each st around, working 3 sc in each corner. sl st to join.

To make Shamrock

Re-Join green, with sl st, to a free front loop in Rnd 1. There should be 6.
Pick a loop that is in-line with one of the blocks of 3dc (not in-line with a corner)
(sc, 2hdc, 2dc, 2hdc, sc, sl st) in same loop
(sl st, sc, 2hdc, 2dc, 2hdc, sc, sl st) in next two loops
sk next loop
sl st in the next loop
ch5, sc in 2nd from hook and in next 3. sl st in base of stem.
sk next loop and sl st in sl st of first leaf. Finish off
